Effects on Your Baking
Allspice is literally named because it tastes like a combination of cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves. This homemade blend is the best possible approximation, though allspice has a unified, singular warmth that a blend of separate spices can't perfectly replicate. The blend may taste slightly "busier" than true allspice, but in spice cakes and cookies, it's excellent.
